Kavya: Recipient of the Tim Fisher Award for Citizenship
Kavya, a Year 12 student, was honoured with the Tim Fisher Award for Citizenship, a recognition given to students who made meaningful contributions both inside and outside the classroom.
Kavya’s dedication to fostering a supportive and inspiring environment for her peers was unparalleled. She consistently went the extra mile, asking questions others hesitated to and sharing strategies to help her classmates thrive. Her commitment to school life was evident through her involvement in Model United Nations (MUN), TEDx, mathematics competitions, and more.
As a Prefect, Kavya excelled in her responsibilities, managing logistics, coordinating events, and collaborating closely with staff to ensure their success. Her efforts were instrumental in the triumph of the TEDx Youth Event, where she not only organised operations but also delivered an impactful speech.
Kavya’s passion for making a difference and her unwavering dedication to her peers and the AIS community made her a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
Lucas: Recipient of the Greg Johnson Sportsperson of the Year Award (Upper Secondary Male)
Lucas was named the Greg Johnson Sportsperson of the Year (Upper Secondary Male) for 2024, celebrating his exceptional achievements and leadership in sports.
As Captain of the Boys Rugby Under 19 Team, Lucas led his team to Gold in the ACSIS League, demonstrating unwavering commitment and skill. His outstanding performance earned him a place in the prestigious Singapore Under 18 Rugby Team.
Lucas’s athletic prowess extended beyond rugby, with his remarkable speed and strength shining on the athletics track. He was crowned Age Champion at the House Carnival and secured a Bronze Medal in the 100m at the ACSIS Track and Field Championships.
Lucas’s achievements reflected his versatility, passion, and dedication to sport, and we eagerly anticipate his future successes.
Emily: Recipient of the Ian Payne Award for Community Service
Emily, this year’s recipient of the Ian Payne Award for Community Service, demonstrated an exceptional commitment to making a positive impact in both the school and the broader community.
Her contributions included a pivotal role in the Schools4Schools initiative, leadership on the Nepal trip, and boldly shaving her head for the Shark Shave fundraiser. Emily also excelled in co-curricular activities such as the Senior Voice Ensemble, Choir, Soul Band, and the Duke of Edinburgh programme.
Emily’s dedication extended to supporting younger students, volunteering at school events, and mentoring peers to ensure the continuation of AIS legacy projects. From workshops at the Global Festival to participation in the Cambodia Book Drive, her efforts highlighted her selflessness and determination to make a difference.
Emily’s passion for service and her tireless efforts made her a truly deserving recipient of this award.
Ruby: Recipient of the Greg Johnson Sportsperson of the Year Award (Upper Secondary Female)
Ruby was awarded the Greg Johnson Sportsperson of the Year (Upper Secondary Female), recognising her outstanding contributions to AIS’s sporting excellence.
A multi-talented athlete, Ruby represented AIS in all three sporting seasons, excelling in Under 19 Volleyball, Superleague Netball, Touch, Track and Field, SEA Lions Netball, and ACSIS Netball. Her dedication extended to Lachlan House, where she competed in ‘A’ events, earning valuable points and showcasing her competitive spirit.
As Sports Prefect for 2023/2024, Ruby inspired her peers through her leadership, hard work, and sportsmanship. Her passion and perseverance left a lasting legacy for future AIS athletes.
Conor: Outstanding Contribution to the Music Department
Conor has been an invaluable asset to the Music Department over the past two years. He contributed significantly by singing with the Senior Vocal Ensemble and Secondary Choir, playing drums in both the Senior Jazz Band and Soul Band, and performing percussion with Concordis.
His talents were showcased at prestigious events such as the ANZAC Day service at Kranji, the ANZA Ball, G’Day by the Bay, and by special invitation from the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions. A key driving force behind the school’s student-led rock bands, Conor also performed at prominent school events including MOE, The Global Carnival, and F1 Youth Music Matters.
Beyond his musical versatility and talent, Conor served as a true role model for younger students. He consistently took time to welcome and support newcomers, making them feel valued. His dedication to excellence was evident in the high standards he set for himself and his hard work to achieve them.
The school wishes Conor all the best as he embarks on a career in the Performing Arts.
