Our school calendar has 4 terms each year. Each term is 10 weeks in length which supports optimum learning periods for students as it prevents learning fatigue often associated with a 3 term (15 week) system.
We have two x 4 week holidays periods, one at Christmas(December/January) and one mid-year (June/July), instead of the traditional 8 week summer holiday break which helps alleviate learning loss over this long holiday which is better suited to working parents and expatriates as allows a return to home country for one holiday and explore Asia in the other.
