From the students’ consistent track record to our comprehensive educational pathways, here are five key insights into our graduates and how their AIS education equips them for their future in some of the best universities globally.
Our AIS Graduates: 5 Facts You Must Know
1. Our Strong IB Diploma Track Record
Year after year, our AIS graduates continue to push the boundaries and excel in their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Examinations, upholding the excellent track record established by previous cohorts.
In 2023 alone, the graduating cohort of students exceeded expectations by attaining an average IB score of 33.1 over 45, which goes beyond the global average score of 29.06. What’s more, 8.5% of students have scored more than 40 IB points.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, 22 students from the entire cohort received the esteemed Bilingual Diploma, which is given to students who have displayed strong proficiency in two languages and embraced an international mindset.
This track record alone clearly shows how committed the students are to excellence and consistently raising the bar in their studies.
2. Our Proven IB Preparation Pathways
Certainly, our students would not have excelled in their assessments if not for the comprehensive preparation pathways that the school has paved for them throughout their IB journey and beyond.
From early childhood through their senior years, the school offers a broad academic program designed to prepare students for university education.
Through a myriad of enriching co-curricular activities and the expertise of the school’s guidance counsellors, we help students pinpoint their various interests and strengths and develop a plan for their university education based on those factors. This enables us to steer them towards the direction that will foster their success and growth.
As a result, many of our alumni members have found themselves with a plethora of options for their study destinations including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand, among many others.

4. The AIS Higher School Certificate Pathway
Apart from the more commonly known International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), the Australian International School also offers the Higher School Certificate (HSC). This pathway is an internationally known high school graduation credential and is catered towards Secondary students in years 11 and 12.
Compared to the IBDP which has a broader curriculum, the HSC program has a more targeted focus and allows students to freely choose which subjects they want to specialise in. For instance, they can focus on Maths and Sciences, or Arts and Humanities as opposed to only choosing one subject from each group.
This format provides a strong foundation for students looking to pursue vocational training, employment, or tertiary education, especially those who want to pursue a specific or niche major in university.
With your HSC results, you’ll also be able to determine your Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), which ranks you based on percentiles compared to other students who sat for the HSC.
As an internationally recognised credential, your rank plays a crucial role in determining admission to a diverse range of overseas universities.
