In 2007, Charlie Withayachamnankul embarked on his academic journey at the Australian International School (AIS), a decision that would shape his entrepreneurial trajectory. Graduating in 2010 as the top achiever on the HSC Distinguished Achievers List in New South Wales, went on to study at Monash University and now resides in Bangkok, Thailand, successfully navigating the business world as the co-founder of Resubae and the CEO of StartupBreed Recruitment, collaborating with industry giants like Netflix, Apple, Flash Coffee, and Traveloka.
A Crucial Influence on Success
Charlie attributes much of his success to the nurturing environment at AIS. “AIS nurtured creativity and gave exposure to diverse backgrounds and cultures,” he reflected. This exposure played a pivotal role in fostering seamless business dealings, enabling success not just in Thailand but also on an international level.
Recently honoured with the Young Entrepreneur Alumni Award by the Australian Alumni Association (Thailand) & Australian Embassy, Charlie acknowledged the profound impact of AIS on his journey. “The Australian Alumni Awards are the most distinguished honour given to alumni who have demonstrated achievements at a local, national, or international level. AIS laid the foundation for these achievements,” he emphasised.
Resubae and StartupBreed: Paving Career Paths
Reflecting on his ventures, Charlie shared insights into Resubae and StartupBreed Recruitment, both born out of his experiences and learning at AIS. “Resubae was born out of a problem that saw the potential everyone had but was unable to articulate that into their resume,” Charlie explained. It has since evolved into Thailand’s top career services and consultancy company, addressing industry switches and guiding individuals through various career challenges.
StartupBreed Recruitment, Charlie emphasised, is Thailand’s sole recruitment agency specifically tailored to hunt talents with a startup mindset. The agency, having amassed 81 clients within 18 months, stands as a testament to Charlie’s entrepreneurial prowess, developed and honed during his time at AIS.

Charlie, yet another AIS alumni making waves in the entrepreneurial world, highlights the school’s commitment to fostering innovative thinkers and leaders. Overcoming Entrepreneurial Challenges
Addressing the inherent challenges of entrepreneurship, Charlie candidly shared, “The fact that sometimes you do not know if your decisions are the right ones, you must always be ready to make mistakes then problem-solve and swing right back into play.” He emphasised the importance of empathy and active listening in leadership roles, skills honed during his time at AIS.
Post-AIS Initiatives and Future Aspirations
Charlie’s post-AIS endeavours extend beyond business success, emphasising the continuous connection he maintains with AIS. “Since graduation in 2010, I still come back to the condo in Lorong Chuan every 2-3 months and see how the school has evolved.” This connection has led to various teaching and volunteering initiatives focused on improving education in Thailand.
