Canteen

Canteen services are a critical part of the School’s provision, not least because we are all aware that nutritionally balanced food options for children can encourage them to engage in healthy eating habits as they continue to grow.

The two AIS canteens are managed for the School by Sodexo. Founded in 1966 by Pierre Bellon in Marseille, France, Sodexo is now the worldwide leader in Quality-of-Life Services. In Singapore, we have over 300 Sodexo Education staff serving more than 10,500 meals every day. They have been working with schools and colleges since 1999.

Sodexo produces their dishes fresh on site, made from principal ingredients, created and anaylsed by qualified chefs and dedicated service teams.

Here’s a quick guide to our meal services:

Primary 1 to Primary 4: Meals are standardised and delivered to classrooms; no ordering is needed.

Prep to Year 2: Lunches must be pre-ordered and are also delivered to classrooms.

Year 3 and above: Students can pre-order their meals for pickup at the Senior Canteen, or purchase them directly using cash or a rechargeable AIS student card. Year 12 students can also order from the Billabong Café.

Students have the flexibility to enjoy their meals in various locations around the school, including the canteen, the oval, or the picnic benches, thanks to our free seating policy. From Year 3, students have the flexibility to eat in their classrooms, outside, or in the canteen areas.

Meal prices are affordably set between $6 and $7.50, ensuring accessibility for all our students.
