James is the Deputy Head of Early Years at the Australian International School and has over 15 years of experience working in schools in Australia and Singapore. James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Teaching. He is passionate about providing the highest quality of education where young children can develop a strong foundation for their learning and thrive in an environment that is stimulating and inclusive.

 

James has been part of the AIS Community for seven years, working in various roles during this time, including Classroom Teacher, Head of Year for Curriculum, Welfare and Administration, Assistant Head and now, Deputy Head. He has over 10 years of experience in the IB-PYP and is a strong believer in the value of an international education. James is driven to promote inquiry learning and ensuring that children have the opportunities to develop important knowledge, skills, attributes and attitudes that will support them through the various stages of their life. He is also committed to working closely with all members of the school community in partnership to develop, nurture and maintain positive relationships.

 

James is a keen golfer, AFL tragic and will attempt to tackle any DIY task (with various levels of success). He is joined at AIS by wife Amy who works in the Elementary School. They have two young sons, Jenson and Alfie and enjoy wonderful the family lifestyle that Singapore has to offer.
